A Beautiful Pain

She heard the sound of the birds
chirping away into a vast freedom
She heard the sound of the raindrops
touching the roads gently
She heard the noises of people
marching rapidly at 5 p.m.

She put on her favourite cap
took her favourite blue racket
pedalled her favourite bike
quickly against the wind

The wall was hit
by a small black-coloured ball
served but she missed
boasted but she failed

Her mind was puzzled
her heart was stung
her mouth was shut
her hand kept moving
creating the bounced ball sound
her eyes saw everything
but everything seemed nothing

What was it?
She was playing
but her heart was aching
into a suffocation
of perhaps a beautiful pain?
